Hafnarfjordur is Iceland´s third biggest community. It takes it´s name (meaning harbour-fjord) from the area´s excellent natural harbour. The town has its own culture and entertainment and hosts an annual Viking Festival plus the Bright Days Festival and the Christmas Village. Built of lava fileds, this town is famous for its hidden elves and mystical beings, thought to inhabit the unique cliffs and rock formations. Guided tours frequent these areas to discover whether the myth is true or false.
